On January 20, the scenic work of Mount Sanqing, "The seclusion of Mount Sanqing", was voted by viewers across the country through the Internet and mobile phones. It stood out from many outstanding scenic spots and was ranked among the six most beautiful mountains in the selection activity of "the most beautiful place in China". In addition, Mount Huangshan, Mount Taishan, Mount Emei, Mount Huashan and Mount Tianzi in Zhangjiajie were also selected.
It is reported that the "Most Beautiful Places in China" selection event, hosted by China National Geographic and co organized by 34 media outlets across the country, lasted for 8 months. A judging panel consisting of 5 professional societies, more than ten academicians, and nearly 100 experts and scholars from across the country selected 15 types, including mountains, lakes, forests, grasslands, deserts, Yadan landforms, islands, coasts, waterfalls, glaciers, canyons, urban areas, rural towns, tourist caves, and swamps and wetlands. In the end, several outstanding individuals from each type entered the "most beautiful" ranking list.
