With the May Day holiday approaching, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark has rolled out multi-pronged arrangements covering passenger flow control, market regulation, work safety and parking optimization to ensure visitors enjoy a safe, orderly and pleasant sightseeing experience.

Targeted Passenger Flow Control for Smooth Visits

The Geopark enforces the rule that only pre-booked ticket holders are allowed entry. Via official channels including WeChat Official Account, TikTok, Weibo and Xiaohongshu, the Geopark releases real-time ticketing updates and shuttle bus tips to forecast visitor volume and encourage staggered trips. Around 800–1,000 staff are deployed on duty during peak holidays under the management frameworks of Party Building + Grid Governance and Police + Grid Governance, with grid officers stationed at all key checkpoints.

At Jinsha, Waishuangxi and Gangshou Service Areas, an entry queuing system is adopted to release visitors in batches. The smart tourism management platform monitors crowd density in real time to prevent overcrowding. For ground transportation, 5–7 feeder routes link the three service areas with four major parking lots at Fenglin, Zihu, Xikeng and Gangshou. Following the guideline of “prepare fully rather than run short of resources in need”, 50–80 spare shuttle coaches are kept on standby. Free transfers are available during peak hours, with transport capacity dynamically adjusted to avoid prolonged large-scale traffic jams and guarantee smooth Geopark access

Joint Law Enforcement to Rectify Prominent Irregularities

Prior to the May Day holiday, under the Sanqingshan Tourism 373 Joint Supervision Mechanism, authorities of culture & tourism, market regulation, public security and traffic police launched a special inspection on market order through joint law enforcement. Focus was placed on cracking down on irregular practices including illegal operation by travel agencies, improper tour guide conduct, forced consumption and unlicensed private vehicle transportation.

All-round Inspection for Potential Safety Hazards

Departments of emergency management, culture & tourism, market regulation, fire control and traffic police carried out full-coverage safety screening. Inspections were intensified on special equipment such as cableways, elevators and bungee jumping facilities. Comprehensive traffic safety checks targeted illegal passenger transport by shuttle buses and private cars to safeguard road safety. Special food hygiene inspections covered raw material procurement, food processing and tableware disinfection at all catering outlets to prevent mass food safety incidents.

Smart Tourism Mini Program Delivers Convenient Services

To improve visitor experience, the Geopark has upgraded functions of the Sanqingshan Smart Tourism WeChat Mini Program. The platform integrates ticket reservation, navigation, real-time weather check, emergency assistance and visitor feedback. Visitors can access one-stop smart travel services simply by scanning the QR code with mobile phones for a more relaxing trip.
