Yushan Huaiyushan Central Primary School

Yushan Huaiyushan Central Primary School is located at the foot of Huaiyushan, a sacred site of revolutionary heritage, in the core area of Huaiyushan subdistrict, Yushan County. It is a public central primary school rooted in the mountainous area, dedicated to education with distinctive characteristics. The school mainly undertakes compulsory primary education for school-age children in the Huaiyushan area, with jurisdiction over Yufeng Teaching Site and Shuige Complete Primary School, covering a wide region. It serves as an important base for promoting the in-depth integration of revolutionary (red) education and rural education on the northern foot of Sanqingshan.

The school features “Gan Opera into Campus” as its distinctive school-running characteristic. It has elaborately developed the school-based curriculum Suiyu Ganyin (Broken Jade Gan Opera Melody), and offers a series of courses including “Talking about Gan Opera, Drawing Gan Opera, and Singing Gan Opera”. It has also established a Gan Opera Club to guide students in systematically learning Gan Opera knowledge, vocal skills and body movements, effectively inheriting the excellent local traditional culture.

The school’s Gan Opera programs have won awards in exhibitions at all levels for many times and received wide acclaim from all sectors of society. Among them, the school-based curriculum Suiyu Ganyin won the First Prize of “Excellent Courses” in the 2nd Jiangxi Primary and Secondary School Curriculum Achievement Exhibition and Exchange Activity. The school has also successively been honored as “Jiangxi Provincial Campus Culture Characteristic School” and other titles.
