On April 2, 2022, pursuant to the official document Decision of the China Association for Science and Technology on the Naming of the First Batch of National Science Popularization Education Bases for 2021-2025 (CAST Document Pu Zi [2022] No. 12), Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark was officially selected as one of the first batch of National Science Popularization Education Bases (2021-2025) by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
Centered on dual development of natural science popularization and ecological moral education, this study tour facilitates students’ physical and mental wellbeing, builds physical stamina and perseverance, and helps foster a sound world outlook, life philosophy and values, cultivating all-round developed talents for the new era with well-rounded morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor skills.
In June 2021, Sanqingshan Global Geopark delivered science popularization outreach lectures at both primary and university institutions.
From June 11 to 12, 2021, Sanqingshan UGGp invited Dr. Xu Kejian of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) to carry out the 2021 educational tour in Sanqingshan School and Jiangxi Institute of Economic Administrators.
Sanqingshan UGGp launched geological science education activities to commemorate the 52nd World Earth Day.
In 2020, Sanqingshan received over 6,000 local students for study tour activies.
