To fulfil the science education mission of geoparks, encourage public engagement with earth sciences and boost youngsters’ healthy development, eighteen Chinese UNESCO Global Geoparks plus two national geoparks (candidates for UNESCO designation) rolled out a package of preferential study-tour offers starting July 2022.
In late June 2022, the main scenic area of Sanqingshan UGGp successively welcomed many batches of "interprovincial thousand-person tour groups", "thousand-person study tour groups" and "Youth Graduation Season" themed groups. The Geopark was crowded but in good order. Interprovincial tourism has recovered to pre-epidemic levels, with nearly 70% of visitors coming from outside the province, and the market structure continues to improve.
June 11, 2022 marked China’s 6th Cultural and Natural Heritage Day under the official theme: Cooperatively Conserve World Natural Heritage and Jointly Build a Living Planet. To further showcase the unique features and values of World Natural Heritage and protected areas, as well as raise public awareness of nature and environmental conservation, Sanqingshan rolled out a series of themed science popularization activities for the 2022 Heritage Day.
May 12, 2022 marked China’s 14th National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day. Centered on the theme Reduce Disaster Risks, Safeguard Our Beautiful Homeland, Sanqingshan UNESCO Global Geopark rolled out an integrated online-and-offline science outreach campaign
On April 22, 2022, the date of the 53rd World Earth Day, Sanqingshan Kindergarten launched a series of themed activities under the slogan Protect the Environment, Everyone’s Responsibility.
