Southern Yew: Belonging to the genus Taxus of the Taxaceae family, it is an evergreen tree. The leaves are arranged spirally, in two rows, curved like a sickle, with green stomatal lines on the back of the leaf. The cones are unisexual, dioecious, solitary in the leaf axils, and the female cones have short stalks. The seeds have a red fleshy cup-shaped aril, and the outer seed coat is hard. It grows in mountain forests at altitudes of 250–1400 meters.
