On October 27-28, 2020, the 2020 UNESCO Global Geoparks Annual Meeting of China was held in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. Over 200 people attended the meeting, including representatives from 41 global geoparks and their administrative departments, as well as geopark experts and scholars.

From November 6 to 8, 2018, the 2018 China UNESCO Global Geoparks Annual Conference was held at Yandangshan World Geopark in Zhejiang. This was the first Global Geoparks Annual Conference held after the management of geoparks was transferred to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
