The 8th UNESCO Global Geoparks Conference was held from September 11 to 14, 2018, at the Adamello-Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark in Trentino, Italy, with more than 850 representatives from 65 countries participating. Sanqing Mountain UNESCO Global Geopark sent representatives to attend the conference.
On August 23, 2018, a special seminar on World Geopark evaluation, organized by the National Geopark Network Center, was held in Beijing. Over 50 leaders, managers, and experts from relevant organizations, including the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, UNESCO Global Geoparks, the Institute of Geology of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, the Institute of Geomechanics of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, the Institute of Karst Geology of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, and China University of Geosciences (Beijing), attended the meeting. Representatives from Sanqingshan Global Geopark also attended this meeting.
November 14, 2017 From November 13 to 15, 2017, the 2017 Annual Meeting of Chinese UNESCO Global Geoparks was held at Ningde UGGp. More than 200 participants, including representatives and experts from 35 UGGps, 2 candidate Global Geoparks, and competent authorities of geoparks across China, gathered to exchange achievements and share experiences. Sanqingshan UGGp sent representatives to attend the meeting.
September 18, 2017 From September 19 to 22, 2017, the 5th Asia-Pacific Geoparks Symposium was grandly held in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province. The theme of this conference is "UNESCO global geoparks promote sustainable development of local economy". More than 900 representatives from 27 countries attended the conference. Representatives of UNESCO, GGN, UNESCO Global Geopark Council, and Asia-Pacific Geoparks Network and other organizations attended the general assembly. Sanqingshan UGGp sent representatives to participate in the conference.
From January 13 to 19, 2016, the International Training Course on Geopark Management and Development was held in Beijing, organizing a concentrated training for more than 60 participants, including managers of China's World Geoparks, geopark experts, and scientific partners. Mount Sanqing World Geopark also sent representatives to participate in the training and successfully completed the course.
On November 25, 2015, the Achievement Launch Conference Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of UNESCO and the 30th Anniversary of China’s Accession to the World Heritage Convention was held at the Palace Museum. The conference was hosted by the UNESCO Beijing Office and co-organized by the Palace Museum and World Heritage Magazine. As a site of the UNESCO-Mercedes-Benz Star Fund Conservation Project, Sanqingshan was invited to attend the event.
